The first four photographs were taken at school and the last two I shot in my bedroom. Picture 1 focuses on bike racks, 2 focuses on the technology engineering sign, 3 focuses on a sewer drain, 4 on a school bus, 5 on my beds head board and 6 on my laptops keyboard. In pictures 1, 3, 5 and 6 I was close up to the subjects and in pictures 2 and 4 I had more of a far way distance from then, but zoomed in on the subject to get a clearer image. In images 1 and 4 my p.o.v. was straight on, but from more of a diagonal angel. In image 2 I was taking the picture from below my subject. In images 3, 5 and 6 I was directly in front of the subjects. All of my images are vertical. I think my third image directly draws the eye on any viewer because its all focused on the sewer drain, but you can still see the long road blurred in the background which I believe gives it a mysterious look.
Pattern and Texture
In images 1 and 3 I was close up to my subject. Then in pictures 2 and 4 I was far away. In pictures 1 and 4 the shot was taken straight on, and in image 2 I took the photo from below the building. In the 3rd picture I was above the rocks. All of my images are vertical. Pictures 1 and 2 follow the rule of thirds, but images 3 and 4 don't because there empty space in the top of the picture in both pictures. I believe they're all examples of pattern and texture because there's many different shapes and structures to the different objects in each picture.
In image 5 I had a fast shutter speed to freeze action. My ISO was 140 and my WB was on 200. The positive space in image 5 truly makes this photo what it is. They way the lines in the blanket contrast with my shirt and the background gives almost a pop affect to the subject in the picture. I used a slow shutter speed to blur the action in image 4. My ISO was 140 and my WB was on 200. The motion of the blanket shows blur in the picture as it's being thrown over the subjects shoulder. The distance was approximately 5 or 6 feet away and my POV was directly in front of the subject. The dark color of the subjects shirt and pants draws your eye into the center of the photo as the reast of the image contains all lighter colors.
Image 6: The f-stop on this picture was f/4.2. The ISO on image 6 was 800 and the WB was on auto. Image 3: The f-stop on this picture was f/18. The ISO on image 3 was 800 and the WB was on auto. I think that image 3 is better than image 6. You would want to use a shallow death of field when only wanting to capture one flower in a setting of a field filled with different flowers. And you would want to use a large depth of field maybe when taking a picture of a nature setting like mountains.
Color Corrected
Favorite Thing; Point of View
I chose to shoot a pair of shoes. They are my favorite pair of shoes, but I was interested in how the laces and the tone of the color of them would come out.In the various points of view I photographed from, I tried to get and overview of these shoes in images 1, 3 and 6. Then in the second image I attempted to shoot a unique angle of them by placing one shoe on top of the other. Also in image 4 I captured the company name of these shoes because I believed it brought out a unique angle to the shoes from the back. Lastly in image 5 I wasn't sure where I was trying to go with the point of view in this picture, but the shadow that the tongues of the shoes leave on the inside of them caught my eye.My setting for photographing these was jus on white pieces of paper surrounding them to bring out any pop of color or detail in the design of the shoe that I could.I avoided distracting backgrounds by photographing with a backdrop.I considered composition and depth of field by trying to take pictures of various different points of view and removing any lines in the background taking away from the subject.
Removing Unwanted Items
Capturing Light
In image 2 my camera angle was directly in front of my model. The light angel was from the top right of my model and it was pointing right at her. I did not use a reflector or an umbrella. My magazines name is "Beau" which is french for beautiful, and the theme is spring arrival. I picked this photo because I believe it has a good range of values and the levels have good quality in this image.
